Luminary Scholarship Program

2026 Luminary Scholarship Program Now Open

AVCU is pleased to open the 2026 Luminary Scholarship Program. This year’s program will be structured differently than in years past. Each Vermont credit union will be awarded one Luminary Scholarship and will select its own recipient. The Luminary Scholarship entitles the recipient to full registration for the en•light•en Convention weekend. Participating credit unions are responsible for covering the cost of the recipient’s hotel accommodations.

To support a consistent and streamlined approach statewide, AVCU will provide a standard application (see below) that credit unions may use internally as part of their selection process.

Key Dates

• March 2: Application deadline for candidates submitting materials to their credit union
• March 31: Credit unions notify AVCU of their selected Luminary Scholar

Recipient Expectations

Luminary Scholars will participate in statewide Rising Professionals activities, including:

• A group call with Rising Professionals in April or May
• Attendance at the Rising Professionals meeting during the en•light•en Convention

These experiences provide meaningful connection, early leadership development, and exposure to Vermont’s broader credit union community.

AVCU encourages all Vermont credit unions to participate in this program and help identify and invest in the next generation of credit union leaders.
